Why Should I become a CEA member?
Membership is open to all teachers, counselors, psychologists, nurses, therapists, coaches, and student advisors employed by the Colonial School District.
How is CEA working for you?
Member Advocate
All members of CEA have the support of more than 1,200 fellow members. Through collaboration with the District, issues and concerns are resolved in a more timely manner. If there is an issue that cannot be resolved through this method, the grievance process will ensure a resolution.
Collaborative Agreement
CEA was the first in the state to obtain a contract through the process of collaborative problem solving. Through this process, the school board and CEA present all concerns and issues in all areas of education and members’ needs. They work together to resolve them in ways which will benefit all.
Workshops for Members
In collaboration with Delaware State Education Associations, CEA offers workshops for in-service credit and snow hours with topics ranging from personal wellness like " stress-management" to professional development such as "Trauma Informed learning".
Publications
Members will receive a quarterly newsletter from CEA and email updates from our president and/or CEA board members keeping you informed about current events, concerns, issues and more, as well as emails and publications from DSEA.
You will also see emails from our president or board members about current events, issues, and more.
Political Representation
CEA works with the state association (DSEA) to advance educational issues both on the state and local level.
Educator Appreciation
CEA recognizes its talented, creative, and dedicated members at certain times throughout the school year with luncheons, gifts, etc.
